Post-Labor Day Update

The first few days after Labor Day have been a whirlwind but fun and full of terrific news.

I’m pleased to report that the Boston Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), endorsed my candidate. “For more than 15 years Rosie Hanlon has successfully advocated on behalf of Allston/ Brighton. Rosie understands the importance of utilizing the many resources located within Allston/ Brighton to improve the community and the lives of its citizens,” stated Clare Bertrand, Co-President, Boston NOW.

I’ve continued to campaign hard and well and my campaign continues to attract supporters. As of last count, 130+ households and businesses in Allston-Brighton have placed Rosie Hanlon signs on their lawns and in their windows. These days, it’s hard to drive anywhere without seeing my name lining our streets.

I’ve also made significant updates to my website and encourage you to visit and learn more about both what I’ve done and also what I will do as Allston-Brighton’s next City Councilor. There are so many different challenging we’re facing but I’ve identified 8 priority issues: affordable housing; business viability; city services; civil and human rights; education; environment; institutional expansion; and public safety.

Later today I’m looking forward to attending the Hobart Park Picnic which is always a lot of fun. Before that, I’m going to continue to walk the neighborhoods. I’m now on my fourth pair of shoes! Campaigning isn’t always easy and requires a lot of stamina – but I’m committed and being able to continue to represent, advocate and champion on your behalf is worth every step I take!

I hope to see you on the campaign trails and don’t forget to mark down in your calendar election day – September 25!

Please ask that the City Clerks office disclose the cross index to Council Docket numbers. Following transactions and procedings of the Council would be easier with the index that shows related docket items. Too often people are deflected at the City Clerks office and Council offices when attempting to follow the actions of the Council !

Dear Rosie-

You suck. I have no idea who you are, but my phone keeps ringing telling me to vote for you. It's a California number so I was a bit confused. But now that it has rang a couple times, I let it go to voicemail and finally learned who you are. A politician in Massachusetts.

I LIVE IN MICHIGAN!!! WHY ARE YOUR PEOPLE CALLING ME??? STOP IT!!!

This is bothering me, this is annoying me, not to mention running up my phone bill when I tried to answer initially. I can't not answer my phone, seeing as I'm graduating college and job hunting and it could have been a future employer.

Thanks a lot. I hope you lose. Next time, make sure your staff knows what the heck they're doing.
